The Sandman's Treasury

Use your dreams to make the spirial laws work!

How? Dreams uncover what you believe and when you really know what it is you believe you can change your dreams to automatically alter your waking-life events.

There is a difference between interpreting a dream and analyzing it. Interpretation means finding out what the symbols mean and probably ends up being fortune telling. Analysis means placing the dream symbol definition back into the dream story and comparing it to your life's events which then offers the full physical, emotional, and spiritual message, so you can create your own fortune.

THE SANDMAN’S TREASURY

PART III

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTERPRETATION AND ANALYSIS

Individuals interpret their own dreams better than anyone else. Many dreams require very little interpretation, yet when people take the time to analyze their dreams they understand far more about themselves and their life than by simply accepting the surface, or even intuitive level, of their dreams.

There is a difference between interpreting a dream and analyzing it. Interpretation means finding out what the symbols mean and probably ends up being fortune telling. Analysis means placing the dream symbol definition back into the dream story and then compare it to your life's events which then offers the full physical, emotional, and spiritual message, so you can create your own fortune.

My experience leads me to believe there are basically three types of dream books currently available. The first type concerns itself with the physical senses__that which is thought of as reality. These books are used by people who believe they are primarily of their body and want to know what their future holds. The second type of dream book concerns itself with our psychological and emotional feelings__what is thought of as our minds. These books are used by people who believe their bodies are affected by their minds and want to know how to overcome their emotional and psychological problems. The third type of book concerns the spirit or soul. These books are used by people who believe they are a soul temporarily dwelling within a body that is affected by the directions given by their mind, because their mind is being directed by spirit for their soul evolution.

There is no new knowledge to be found on this planet. There are only changing and changed perspectives. Religion, philosophy, and psychology, are merely hybrids of knowledge.

It is imperative that a person not interpret another’s dream without discussing beliefs about specific symbols and the specific nuances. A horse often represents both personal power and sexual energy, but it is also a way or means to get around in life. In my dreams a horse has sometimes been the symbol representing a book I am writing.

When you are interpreting and analyzing your dreams start by writing it down using the first person in the present tense. Like this: I am standing at a window, not, I was standing at a window. You do not need to concern yourself with spelling and grammar. Sometimes the symbols will make themselves better understood by using homonyms that are words spelled the same way that have different meanings, and homophones, which are words spelled differently but are pronounced the same way, and you do not want to miss the subtlety and the fun of your dream’s symbol. To analyze your dream, use it completely—not only parts of it. Allow your intuition to guide you. And do not forget that practice will improve your skills.

Thus, I conclude that none of the types of dream and symbol books are more right than another. Nor is there one interpretation of a symbol more significant than another. Many dreams and dream symbols are understood on an intuitive level. When they are not, there are various guides available. There are times when writing about a dream I get valuable information about myself without analysis. Then, there are other times when I do make the effort to interpret and analyze my dreams to obtain even more information; so the nuances of the dream are revealed to me.

The desire, willingness, and beliefs of a person are the critical issues in gaining knowledge and growth through dream analysis. All is perfect; dream guidance that is written, spoken about, and used will occur for people at the correct stage of their lives.

There is an ancient adage that is true for modern people, too. It says that all a people's questions and answers are found within. Dreams are free. However, dreamers must spend the coins of their desire to grow and then make regular payments of their willingness to take actions that first uncover the questions so the answers can then be revealed.
